Scott Davenport
Head Coach Scott Davenport has spent nearly two decades on the sand developing elite beach volleyball players into champions. An Olympic- and World Championship-winning coach based in the South Bay, Davenport has coached 15 Olympians and 38 AVP and FIVB champions across four Olympic cycles, helping his athletes earn 48 FIVB World Tour medals, 14 AVP titles and 18 NORCECA medals.
His career highlights include guiding Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan to the 2019 FIVB World Championship gold medal and the world’s No. 1 ranking, earning Davenport the 2019 IBVCA Coach of the Year honor. He has coached and advised athletes and national teams from the United States, Canada, Costa Rica and Mauritius, and most recently served as Head Development Coach for the USA Volleyball Beach National Team from 2023–2026.
A former AVP and FIVB professional himself, Davenport brings an athlete’s perspective to coaching. His philosophy combines elite technical training, biomechanics, video and data analysis, strength development and sports psychology—all tailored to the individual athlete. At the heart of it is a simple belief that has guided him throughout his career: if you’re not having fun, you’re not going to play well.
